We Miss The Earth

We Miss The Earth @  The Knife Shop 11/5/10

We Miss The Earth has a fun, pop/ post-punk sound that is simple and interesting. The drums and bass are the most striking features of this act.  The combination of acoustic and electronic drums was interesting to watch and added depth and texture that can be lost when electronic drums are used. The bass while a bit too heavily effected for my taste was driving and impeccably timed, it was the glue that bound everything together. I was not too impressed with the vocals on a few songs, they seemed to lack energy in the beginning of the set. The best song of the evening was “Incentive” from their album A New Silent Era, this song sounded tight and they totally rocked it.
