Flying with Falkor

Unicorn Domination @ Ella St. 10/21/10

Venturing out for the first time in almost three months Chelsea, Duncan and Clint put on a mesmerizing show despite a few technical difficulties which were smoothly worked out while Chelsea speaking in her comical “Satan voice” and the magical dancing unicorn entertained us. The most defining aspects of their sound are the drums and vocals. Clint uses a V-drum kit with drum sounds that are very 80’s while Chelsea’s vocals create a cerebral, spacey feel. Combine these elements with Duncan’s guitars and recorded synth sounds and you get a sound that is mellow and dark.  For some reason Unicorn Domination makes me think of The Never Ending Story. Maybe its their vast, airy sound, it makes you feel like you are floating in the clouds and possibly flying with Falkor, such a cute happy dragon. You can catch Unicorn Domination on November 10th at Someday Lounge or hear them now here:
